The German Society for Higher Education Didactics (dghd) is currently organising a lecture series around ChatGPT – “Keys to Understanding Artificial Intelligence and its Applications in Higher Education.”

The current online event series of the dghd “AI in Higher Education – ChatGPT for Non-Computer Scientists: Keys to Understanding Artificial Intelligence and its Applications in Higher Education” aims to provide an opportunity to better understand the impact of AI and machine learning on academic teaching.
Registration is not required.

Prof. Dr. Doris Weßels, Professor of Business Informatics at Kiel UAS, and co-founder of the Competence Centre “Teaching and Learning Writing with Artificial Intelligence – Tools and Techniques for Education and Science.”

ChatGPT for Non-Computer Scientists: Keys to Understanding Artificial Intelligence and its Applications in Higher Education
Speaker:
Dr. Thomas Arnold, research associate in the field of “Ubiquitous Knowledge Processing” at the Department of Computer Science at the Technical University of Darmstadt. His research focuses on the possibilities of current language models, as well as the use of new language and text tools in university teaching.

What Are We Here For? A Value-Based Reflection and Discussion on ChatGPT in Research and Teaching
Speaker:
Prof. Dr. Gabi Reinmann, Professor of University Teaching and Learning at the University of Hamburg. In her research, she focuses on questions of higher education didactics in relation to new media or design-based research.

ChatGPT as a Cognitive Tool – How Can We Promote the Acquisition of 'Higher Order Skills' in Students?
Interactive workshop with Prof. Dr. Christian Spannagel, Professor of Mathematics and its Didactics with a focus on computer science and the implementation of new media.
