Access to Courses from Previous Semesters

For courses in the current semester, you will be automatically enrolled in the corresponding Moodle course after registering for the TUCaN event. However, if you need access to a Moodle course from a previous semester, automatic enrollment is not possible.

Sollten Sie Zugang zu einem Moodle-Kurs eines vergangenen Semesters benötigen, gehen Sie folgendermaßen vor:

1. Search for the Course

Search for the desired course on Moodle. To do this, open the course catalog from the main navigation bar. You now have two options:

  • Navigate through the catalog to the relevant semester and department to find the course within the catalog structure.
  • Enter the course number or name in the “Search courses” field. To narrow down the results, include the year of the semester, e.g., “2024/25” or “2024”.

Enroll or Contact the Instructor

  • If self-enrollment is available for a course, it will be marked with the corresponding symbol. Click on the course name to open the enrollment page. On that page, click the “Enroll me” button at the bottom to enroll yourself in the Moodle course.
  • If you only see a “Continue” button instead of an “Enroll me” button, self-enrollment is not enabled for this course. In this case, please contact this instructor listed on the enrollment page under “Instructors.”

Note: Due to data protection regulations, email addresses are not displayed on Moodle. Please refer to the website of the respective department to find the instructor’s contact information.

When contacting the instructor, feel free to include a link to the relevant article in our Instructor FAQ: Granting Students Access to Courses from Previous Semesters
