Formats:

Panopto generally supports videos in all common formats (detailed overview from the provider (opens in new tab)).

If you have videos in other formats, you can convert them to MP4 using the Handbrake (opens in new tab)converter. Panopto always delivers videos in MP4 format (e.g., if you enable downloads for students).

File Size:

There is no general file size limit for the Panopto Cloud. However, note that for video quality, only bitrates up to 2.5 Mbit/sec (approximately 1.1 gigabytes per hour of video) are supported – anything beyond this is downscaled. Therefore, it’s best to aim for a balance between good quality and bitrate during creation (we recommend at least 0.5 Mbit/sec).
