Authoring system for creating online learning units
In addition to text, multimedia content such as graphics, videos, etc. can be integrated, as well as test tasks for self-assessment. Students can also access the online learning units on mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets.
The authoring system LernBar was developed at Goethe University Frankfurt and can be used free of charge by teachers at other universities for non-commercial purposes.
Possible Uses
- Online learning units offer a meaningful way to prepare recurring and fundamental content in a multimedia format for students’ supplementary self-study within courses.
- Different levels of prior knowledge among students can be better addressed through appropriately adapted learning paths within the units.

This tool is intended as a suggestion to help facilitate digital workflows in teaching and learning. It is freely available on the web and can be used free of charge, at least in its basic version.
