Files Larger Than 100MB: Panopto and Media Portal

Files in Moodle must not exceed 50 MB in size. Larger files, such as video and audio materials, should be uploaded by instructors using Panopto (Video, Audio).

You can use the Media Portal for any other materials. Here, you can upload your materials and then link to them in Moodle.

If your course is limited to 50 MB, check the “Maximum upload size” in the course settings under “Files and uploads”.

Using Panopto

Moodle is linked to Panopto. This means that a video folder is automatically created on Panopto for Moodle courses. Further information on the use of Panopto

Using the Media Portal

Important:

  • Login to the media portal (to store your data in the “moodle share”) is NOT via the TU-ID but via the access of the department/institute.
  • Please note that the files and folders in the media portal must not contain any spaces or special characters in their names. These spaces and special characters will cause problems when accessing the links!

Access to “moodle-Share” in the media portal can be provided upon request from the if access has not yet been set up for your chair/institute.
