Margic activity for annotations

The “Margic” activity enables course participants to create entries that can then be annotated and evaluated by teachers.

Creating Margic

To add Margic as an activity to your course, switch your course to edit mode by activating the Edit slider. Then click on “Add an activity or resource” and select Margic.

There are two specific activity setting options in the settings:

Error summary:

The error type templates can be changed here and new error types can be created via “Create error type (Margic)”.

1. a name must be specified for the error type.

2. the colour in which an error is marked must be specified. The colour must be specified with a colour code. You can find help via the question mark.

In general, the error summary serves to recognise the error rate of the individual students in the form of a list.

Grading:

This function enables feedback on the entry.

Annotations: Main function of the activity

Here you can mark certain text passages and write comments on them, whereby an error type and a short text can be stored for each comment.

Participants then have the opportunity to edit their original entry and use the feedback they receive to improve it.
